Jim Delegat’s Giacomo is confirmed as the overall winner of the 2016 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Giacomo, a 70-ft yacht from New Zealand, becomes the first overseas yacht to win the race since 2007. Victory is reward for an excellent and consistent race and is a triumph of persistence. Two years ago, Giacomo was forced to retire from the Rolex Sydney Hobart after she dismasted off the Tasmanian coast. After a year rebuilding the boat, the crew returned for the 72nd edition of the race determined to make amends for that disappointment. After finishing just under two hours behind line honours winner Perpetual LOYAL, and registering the second fastest time in the race’s history, overall victory was confirmed when the pursuing yachts hit fickle conditions in Storm Bay and along the Derwent...

You will be required to show evidence of competency by completing a practical ICC Test at an accredited RYA Centre or by providing a recognised practical certificate of competency. Srecko and Olga Pust were taking part in the rally and sailing their Sweden Yachts 45 Ciao two-handed and were nearing the end of a long passage from Indonesia to the remote Cocos (Keeling) Islands. The were only 40 miles from landfall. The rudder was all but knocked off in an impact with the submerged object (possibly a whale?). The first sign of the problem was that the boat was difficult to steer. When Srecko Pust investigated below he saw that the boat had been holed at the rudder stock. He put out a Mayday on the boat's long range SSB radio and then the two did everything they could to save their yacht, leaving only as the boat sank beneath them. They broadcast a Mayday. The only crew to hear this immediately was another a World ARC yacht nearby, J'Sea, a Jeanneau 52.2 owned by a h...

David Haigh hails from australia, has sailed overseas for the first time in his life. was amazed by the people and the place of Kochi. 40 years back he was here in kochi and then was a back packer but does not like to see the high rises and the busy port as he liked the calm and quiet place kochi used to be. He liked the culture that has been preserved for ages. David is amazed by the history of kochi and would like to have the same preserved. David feels that the Volvo Ocean Race has a great impact on boating and yachting here in kochi and that many more yachts would visit kochi also because the weather is realatively peaceful for boating and yachting as well.
FORREST and BOB are visiting the International Boat Show in Cape Town, South Africa, but before doing so they buy maritime sailor outfits in order to fit in perfectly and get the best service possible. At the boat show the brothers pretend to be millionaires in the market for a huge luxury yacht and get the royal treatment from the folks at Beneteau. Later they bump into a couple of hot girls on the dock and chat them up. The four agree to meet up at a local bar later in the evening. #forrestandbob #dailyvlog #dailyvideo #capetown #southafrica #boatshow #buyingayacht #fakeittillyoumakeit MUSIC: Fly by Julian Avila https://soundcloud.com/julian_avila SHOP: http://shop.forrestandbob.com SOCIALS: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forrestandbob Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/forres...
